Procedure for Registering

Procedure for Registering:

1. If you are registering with credit card then you will hardly face any problem.

2. If you are registering through DD then there is a bit long procedure.

first and foremost go to USEFI and take the bulletin of gre.(address at the end)

Go to your local bank, where you have a account, i dont think if your personal account is required.ask for a payorder.
From the bulletin you will get the form, also you can download it from www.gre.org and take a print.
The dd/or bankers cheque, whatever, should be in dollars(USD 140) in the favor of ETS-GRE.
Normally banks dont allow foreign transaction.

let me tell you what happened in my case.

-I took a payorder in the name of Thomascook. For that a simple form is to be filled.
-But for the amount you better ask Thomascook officer.
-Because he wil tell a rounded amount inclusive of their commission with the current dollar rate.
-Then with the pay order go to local Thomascook centre.(address at the end)
-there, they will again ask for a simple form to be filled.
-And within some 15-30 minutes they will give you the dd of USD 140 in the favor of ETS-GRE.
-Courier it with the form to delhi center.

intro SQL (SEEQUEL)

The origin of SQL and the development of Relational Database go hand-in-hand down the historical path. The relational database concept was developed by Dr.E.F.Codd, an IBM researcher. In June 1970, Dr.Codd published an article entitled"A Relational Model Of Data For Large Shared Data Banks", communication of ACM, Vol.13, No6, Jun 1970, describing his mathematical theory of how data could be stored and maniulated in tables. SQL was conceived in an IBM San Jose research laboratory in mid 1970s as a database Language. - Oracle was earlier called Relational Software, Inc. SQL was completely standardized in 92.

Types of Databases
1) Hierarchical : Mainframe eg: IBM IMS{Information Management System}(1968)
2) Network : Minicomputer eg: DEC and Data General.
3) Relational : PC + Minicaomputer + Mainframe.

NOTE : No DBMS conforms completely to SQL-92
RDBMS meets 12 COdd Rules (published in 1985)
